The Law Offices of Howard Bennett Hellen are owned and managed by attorney Howard Bennett Hellen. Mr. Hellen has been practicing law for 21 years, since 1989. He is a member of the California State Bar and the Washington State Bar. He is also a member of the bars of the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California. He is also a member of the bar for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Hellen earned his Juris Doctor degree at Southwestern University School of Law.
Mr. Hellen is a member of the American Association for Justice, and the San Diego County Bar Association. The firm has been a member of the Better Business Bureau for 12 years, and has earned its highest customer satisfaction rating of "A+".
Mr. Hellen has very extensive experience in his two areas of specialization. With respect to disability and medical (health) benefit claims, he has successfully represented over 100 clients in both informal claims negotiations/settlements and in federal court litigation and appeals to the Ninth Circuit Court. He has had cases published in the Official Reporters due to their importance in assisting plaintiffs wrongfully denied these benefits, as well as in changing the law in favor of group disability insurance claimants. Mr. Hellen is a member of the Patient Advocate Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the National Fibromyalgia Association.
Mr. Hellen's other main specialty is in the field of Estates and Trusts, where he has assisted a very large number of clients on issues from advice and consultation through drafting of all required estate documents, as well as later on, through handling Probate Court matters involving Wills and Trust Administration.
